What's the story

An Elon Musk fan has made a music video praising the billionaire's "master plan to save our lives." The almost three-minute-long clip, shot on the back of a Tesla Cybertruck, has gone viral on the internet. However, it has also been criticized by some Tesla naysayers who have written it off as an audition tape from a "woman hoping to bear Elon's 53rd child."

Creator's profile

Music video celebrates Musk's achievements

The music video was created by Alessandra Basher, a stay-at-home mom who dreams of being a stand-up comedian. She posted the clip for her 5,600 followers on X. In the video, Basher sings about Musk's many ventures: "SpaceX flies/Tesla self-drives/Starlink beams with laser dreams/he's got a master plan for our lives." The song also thanks Musk for "eliminating woke pain" and saving humanity by "making kids to keep mankind alive," mixed with clips of Musk attending Trump rallies.

Criticism

Backlash from online community

Despite the video's popularity, it has been met with backlash on X. Many users expressed their distaste for the video, with one calling it "the most cringe thing on the internet right now." Another user questioned Basher's intentions: "Is this for real or are you just trying to be Elon's next baby mama?" Some viewers even found the content so unbearable that they couldn't watch it in its entirety.

Defense

Basher defends her song, responds to critics

Responding to the criticism, Basher explained her intentions behind making the song. She was not looking for Musk's attention or trying to have his kids as some commenters suggested. "I'm already married (12 years and strong), I'm 46 years old, I have 2 amazing kids," she said. "I'm just having fun creating and performing a song to say thanks for what he did and is doing for this country and the world."

Protests

Recent attacks on Tesla properties

The music video comes amid a spate of attacks on properties linked to Musk's electric vehicle company. Tesla shops, charging stations, and even privately owned vehicles have been targeted. Last month, a woman was charged for vandalizing Tesla stores in Colorado and throwing Molotov cocktails at cars. Earlier this month, four Cybertrucks were set ablaze in a Seattle-based Tesla parking lot.
