Ford EcoSport S, EcoSport Signature Edition launched in India
Expanding its portfolio of EcoSport in India, Ford has launched two new variants of the subcompact SUV in the country. Titled EcoSport S and EcoSport Signature Edition, both the variants will be available in petrol and diesel engine options. Notably, Ford has introduced a bunch of cosmetic changes to differentiate the models from the other EcoSport variants already available in India. Here's more.
Pricing details of the new EcoSport variants
Firstly, both the models are based on the Titanium variant of the standard EcoSport and have received some cosmetic updates. The EcoSport S petrol model is priced at Rs 11.37 lakh while the diesel option is priced at Rs 11.89 lakh. The EcoSport Signature petrol variant is priced at Rs. 10.4 lakh while the Signature diesel model is priced at Rs. 10.99 lakh.
Whats new in the new Ford EcoSport S?
With the new EcoSport S, Ford has re-introduced its 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and generates 125bhp of peak power and 170Nm of peak torque. The EcoSport S variant is also offered on the 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor. Besides changes under the hood, the EcoSport S variant also gets a stiffer suspension setup and a quicker steering.
EcoSport S also gets some minor styling updates
On the outside, the S trim gets a dual-tone finish (along with new Orange paint) and black inserts for the grille, headlamps and fog lamps. The interiors also get a dual-tone theme with orange accents on the seats and the instrument panel. Ford has also offered a sunroof, new 17-inch alloy wheels, HID headlamps, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and tire pressure monitoring system.
Under the Hood: EcoSport Signature Edition
The Signature Edition of the EcoSport gets a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 123bhp. The Signature Edition is also offered on a 1.5-liter diesel engine which generates 100bhp. Notably, both trims get the same 5-speed manual transmission.
Like the S trim, Signature Edition also gets cosmetic updates
On the outside, the Signature Edition gets new 17-inch alloy wheels, a Blue paint scheme, a chrome surround for the grille, black fog lamp bezel, special 'Signature' badging, a rear spoiler along with roof rails, and a sunroof. On the inside, the car offers all-black interiors with contrasting blue stitching and some added features such as electronic stability control and hill-start assist.
