Google now lets you try on clothes virtually—just by uploading a selfie
Google's new feature makes online shopping way easier: snap a selfie, upload it, and see how outfits look on a full-body avatar of yourself.
Available in the US, this tool uses Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image AI (nicknamed Nano Banana) to generate realistic images of you wearing different sizes and styles—no need for awkward mirror selfies or guessing fits.
How it works
Just upload your selfie on Google Search, Shopping, or Images.
The AI builds your avatar and lets you preview clothes in your chosen size with a simple "try it on" button next to apparel listings.
You get several outfit previews before picking your favorite look.
The tech behind the magic
Nano Banana uses deep learning trained on tons of diverse body types and clothing styles to make sure what you see is pretty close to real life—even if all you have is a regular selfie.
No full-body photo required.
Part of Google's bigger fashion push
This try-on tool joins other AI style helpers like Doppl (for outfit ideas) and plugs right into Google Shopping's massive product catalog.
So now, virtual fitting rooms are just part of browsing—making online shopping less guesswork and more fun.
