Google launches Disco: A smarter, AI-powered web browser
Google just announced Disco, a new experimental browser built on Chromium and featuring the Gemini 3-powered "GenTabs."
The big idea? It can turn your open tabs and chat history into "GenTabs"—mini apps that help you plan trips, prep meals, or tackle other tasks right from your browser.
GenTabs: Turning chaos into organized help
Instead of juggling tons of tabs, GenTabs bundles everything you need for a task—like calendars, maps, or crowd insights for trip planning—into one spot.
You can use the chat column (which also works as an address bar) to talk to Disco in plain language and shape these helpers the way you want.
Built for transparency and feedback
Every AI-generated element in Disco links back to its original source so you always know where info comes from.
It even suggests handy apps for things like meal planning or research—no coding needed.
Right now it's Mac-only and invite-only via waitlist, with Google Labs looking for feedback to shape what comes next.
