The update simplifies the process of creating highlight reels, which are collections of clips and photos from a user's gallery. To create one, users can head to the Create tab and click on "Highlight Video." Along with this, Google has also launched a newly redesigned video editor for Android and iOS devices. The new tool is designed to be more user-friendly with features like a "universal timeline" that displays all video clips/content in one place.

The redesigned editor also comes with an "adaptive canvas" that adapts the editing interface based on user needs or the specific project. It allows users to add music and text to a single video clip. The company has said that this revamped editor shall be the default video editing tool on Android devices.

Along with the new editor, Google Photos has also added a feature to explore Photos' music library and find the perfect track for highlight videos. This is available on both Android and iOS devices.
