Google revamps Phone app with youthful design
Google is giving its Phone app a fresh look, rolling out a new design to select beta users.
The update swaps out the old tabs for "Home," "Keypad," and "Voicemail," making it easier to manage calls and contacts.
The "Home" tab now puts your favorite people front and center with contact bubbles, plus a clearer call log so you can keep track of who called when.
What's new in the updated Phone app?
There's a new swipe gesture to help you avoid accidental call mishaps—just swipe to accept or decline calls.
Incoming calls also get a visual upgrade with contacts framed in a whimsical, lumpy circle.
Looking ahead, Google plans even more updates for Android 16 in September, including a "Pixel VIP" widget for Pixel phones that shows extra info about your top contacts, like their location and call history.
