    Honor 8C launches next week in India: Specifications and price

    What's the story

    As the latest addition to its portfolio of mid-range smartphones in India, Honor is expected to launch the 8C next week, according to news agency IANS.

    The phone was launched in China last month, giving us all the specifications and other features.

    The Honor 8C features a HD+ notched display, AI-powered cameras, 4,000mAh battery, and mid-level internals.

    Design & display

    Honor 8C: At a glance

    Up front, the Honor 8C features a notched display with a slim bottom bezel, boasting a screen-to-body ratio of 86.6%.

    The rear casing houses a dual camera setup, a fingerprint sensor, and sports a 3D gradient design (Aurora Blue variant only).

    The Honor 8C sports a 6.26-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) LCD IPS display with a pixel density of 269ppi and a 19:9 aspect ratio.

    Camera

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Honor 8C sports a dual rear camera setup comprising a 13MP (f/1.8) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) secondary monochrome sensor, with support for autofocus and LED flashlight.

    Up front, the phone gets an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie camera with fixed focus and LED flash.

    Notably, both the front and rear shooters offer several AI-based image enhancement features.

    Internals

    Under the hood

    The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor, coupled with an Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage (expandable upto 256GB).

    In India, it is expected to come in 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/64GB storage configurations.

    Further, the Honor 8C runs Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 and packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 5V/2A (10W) charging.

    Connectivity options and sensors onboard the Honor 8C

    In terms of connectivity options, the Honor 8C supports dual SIMs, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2 LE with aptX, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, a Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

    Information

    Honor 8C could be priced at around Rs. 15,000

    In China, the Honor 8C costs CNY 1,099 ( approx. Rs. 11,800) for the 4GB/32GB variant and CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs. 15,000) for the 4GB/64GB model. Hence, in India, we can expect the phone to be priced around Rs. 15,000.
