#LeakPeek: Apple iPhone 9 would be launched on April 15
Apple's iPhone 9 (aka iPhone SE 2), which has seen a delay due to the global coronavirus pandemic, would finally be launched later this month. According to tipster Jon Prosser, Apple is likely to launch the low-cost iPhone on April 15 and release it for sale on April 22. However, these dates are still tentative as plans may change due to the prevailing crisis.

Per an internal meeting yesterday, Apple is now preparing for an April release.

- Shipments on April 22

According to a slew of leaks and reports we have seen over the past couple of months, the upcoming iPhone 9 will retain the outdated design of the iPhone 8. Ironically, Apple is bringing back thick bezels and the Touch ID home button to rival against the latest Android offerings that sport modern designs and bezel-less screens with integrated fingerprint sensors.
The iPhone 9, as per the renders, will sport a single camera on the front as well as rear. The specifications of these sensors are unknown as of now, but the lack of a versatile, multi-camera setup would be a let down for many.
The iPhone 9 is expected to feature a 4.7-inch HD+ LCD screen, and will be offered in Space Gray, Silver, and Red color schemes. Under the hood, it will be backed by an A13 Bionic chipset, the same processor that powers the flagship iPhone 11 series. Further, the handset is expected to sport 3GB RAM, 64GB/128GB of non-expandable storage, and run on iOS 13.
According to rumors, the iPhone 9 is expected to be launched at a starting price of $399 (around Rs. 30,000). Notably, this is the same price at which the original iPhone SE made its debut in March 2016.
