Meta expands teen safety controls across Instagram, Facebook and Messenger
Meta is making things safer for teens across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.
With fresh content controls, teens will see less inappropriate stuff in their feeds, Reels, and chats.
Plus, if someone or a group shares sketchy material, interactions with them get limited automatically.
Meta's Family Centre centralizes parental monitoring
The Family Centre now lets parents keep an eye on their kids' activity from one place, covering Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and even Meta Horizon.
Meta's upgraded AI tools spot underage accounts more accurately by checking posts and profile clues to make sure settings stay age-appropriate.
In India, Brazil, and the EU, parents will also get alerts if their teens repeatedly search for self-harm or suicide topics on Instagram, a step aimed at supporting mental health.
