Meta just bought AI startup Limitless for $33 million

Technology

Meta (yep, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) is snapping up Limitless, the startup known for its AI-powered pendants that record conversations.
As part of the deal, Limitless will stop selling these devices, but if you already own one, you'll get a year of free support—no subscription needed.

What this means for users and Meta's plans

Limitless was founded by Brett Bejcek and Dan Siroker and only recently shifted focus to AI gadgets after starting out as Rewind software.
The company noted increased competition from larger players like OpenAI and Meta, who are also developing hardware devices.
Now under Meta, Limitless is not expected to launch new pendants but will help boost Meta's wearable tech (think AR/AI glasses).
Users can also choose to export or delete their data if they want.
