Android One-based Motorola One Action, with triple cameras, goes official

As an addition to its mid-range One series, Motorola has launched One Action smartphone in select international markets including Brazil, Mexico, and various European countries. The handset is expected to arrive in India on August 23. As for key highlights, the phone flaunts a full-HD+ display with an impressive 21:9 aspect ratio, a triple rear camera setup with 117-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor, and mid-level internals.

Motorola One Action: At a glance

Up front, the Motorola One Action sports a punch-hole design with a prominent bezel at the bottom while on the back, it houses vertically stacked triple cameras and a physical fingerprint scanner. The handset offers a 6.3-inch CinemaVision LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2520 pixels) resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio.

Motorola One Action: For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

The Motorola One Action sports a triple rear camera setup comprising a 12MP (f/1.8) main sensor, 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP (f/2.2) depth sensor. Up front, it sports a 12MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter. Moreover, the main camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Motorola One Action offers impressive videos

The "Action" in handset's name refers to an action camera which supports 117-degree Field of View (FoV) wherein you can record landscape videos on your smartphone while holding it vertically. Further, it comes with 2.0µm Quad Pixel technology that offers high-quality videos in low-light situations.

    Under the hood

Powering the Motorola One Action is a Samsung-sourced Exynos 9609 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. The handset runs stock Android Pie which is upgradable to Android Q and Android R. Apart from that, the company will also provide security updates to the smartphone for three years. Furthermore, it is backed by a 3,500mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging.

    Connectivity options and sensor details

The Motorola One Action supports latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, it offers all standard sensors including accelerometer, proximity, gyroscope, and compass.

    And, what about pricing?

The Motorola One Action is available at EUR 259 (approximately Rs. 20,400) in some international markets including Brazil and Mexico. Hence, we expect the smartphone to arrive in India at a price of around Rs. 20,000. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy M40, Redmi K20, and Realme X.
