NASA readies Artemis II, 1st crewed SLS mission beyond LEO
Technology
NASA is getting ready to launch Artemis II, the first time astronauts will ride its massive Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.
This mission builds on the success of Artemis I and aims to send a crew beyond low Earth orbit, marking a big step since the days of Apollo.
Orion and SLS 10-day systems test
Artemis II is basically a 10-day test drive for NASA's Orion spacecraft and SLS systems in deep space.
After learning from Artemis I, NASA upgraded software, power, and safety features to make things safer for the crew.
The mission is all about making sure everything works before future Moon landings.
