    What's the story

The global variant of Nokia X6, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, which was recently released in Hong Kong, is expected to soon arrive in India, according to an official teaser.

Earlier too, it was speculated that the company is likely to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus given the smartphone had received India SAR certification and its support page went live recently.

    Connecting the dots

Why HMD Global may launch Nokia 6.1 Plus in India?

The Nokia X6, first launched in China, was tipped to launch in other countries after the phone was listed on the company's global website.

And then, its support page went live on the Indian website, nearly a month before the X6 was launched in Hong Kong as Nokia 6.1 Plus.

Moreover, the handset has received India SAR certification which further confirms its imminent launch.

    Information

HMD Global may also launch Nokia 5.1 Plus in India

Back in April, HMD Global introduced Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus together in India. And if the company follows a similar trend, it might as well launch the recently unveiled Nokia X5 aka Nokia 5.1 Plus alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus.

    Design & Display

Nokia 6.1 Plus: At a glance

Given Nokia 6.1 Plus is a rebranded version of Nokia X6, it will retain the same specifications and design.

It will likely get a notch-based display, a prominent chin and a vertically positioned dual rear camera setup - a design seen on the Nokia X6.

It may feature a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

    Camera

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    Nokia 6.1 Plus will sport a dual rear-camera setup with a 16MP f/2.0 sensor, 1-micron pixels, and a 5MP monochrome sensor.

On the front, it will get a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor.

The phone may also get AI integration to offer optimized color contrast, depth of field, portrait lighting effects, face recognition, HDR and Nokia's Bothie feature.

    Specifications

    Under the hood

The phone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor, paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

Moreover, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will run Android Oreo 8.1 stock version, supporting dual-SIM (Nano) cards and may pack a 3,060mAh battery that would support Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

    Information

Connectivity options and sensors onboard Nokia 6.1 Plus

Connectivity options on Nokia 6.1 Plus include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
