Nokia 8110 4G smartphone gets WhatsApp support: Details here
The iconic Nokia Banana phone finally gets WhatsApp support in India via Nokia Store. Earlier, the phone users could download the app only via Jio Store. But now the official Nokia Store has included the WhatsApp app. To recall, the phone features a curved plastic body, slider to answer/end call system, a 2.45-inch display and basic-level internals including a Snapdragon 205 processor. Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head, India, HMD Global, said, "I hope along with adding to the style quotient, this new addition of WhatsApp to the already existing bouquet of apps on Nokia 8110 will make it the ideal choice for our fans."
Just like the original Banana phone, the Nokia 8110 4G also comes with a curved form factor and a slider that can be used to answer/end calls. The polycarbonate shell of the device comes in traditional all-black and yellow color variants and sports a 2.45-inch (240x320 pixels) QVGA curved screen display. Notably, it is IP-52 rated for dust and water-resistance.
Nokia 8110 4G promises a decent feature phone experience with a 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 chip, paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. However, there is no storage expansion facility on this phone. It runs on KaiOS and packs a 1,500mAh battery. Moreover, the phone offers a 2MP rear camera with an LED flash while there is no selfie snapper.
Nokia 8110 4G comes with a designated app store which now supports WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Search and a revamped version of 'Snakes' game. In terms of connectivity, the phone gets LTE dual-SIMs (micro+Nano), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Hotspot, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro-USB 2.0 port.
The Nokia 8110 4G is now available at Rs. 4,999 as against is original launch price of Rs. 5,999. It can be purchased via offline Nokia partner retailers as well as top online retailers including Amazon, Flipkart, and Nokia e-store.
