Nokia9, featuring 5 cameras, to be priced at Rs. 46,999

HMD Global is all set to launch its industry-first penta-camera smartphone, the Nokia 9 PureView, in India by the end of this month. According to a report, the device is tipped to come with a price tag of Rs. 46,999. To recall, Nokia 9 PureView was launched in February at Mobile World Congress 2019. Here's all about the phone.

Nokia 9 PureView: At a glance

Up front, the Nokia 9 PureView sports a traditional notch-free display with sizeable top and bottom bezels. On the back, the glass chassis houses a novel five camera array. The flagship phone features a 5.99-inch Quad-HD+ (1440x2960 pixels) pOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Moreover, it comes with HDR 10 capability, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and IP67 certification for dust and water resistance.

World's first five camera setup on a smartphone

The Nokia 9 PureView sports a ZEISS-certified penta-camera setup, comprising three 12MP monochrome sensors and two 12MP RGB sensors with all sensors having an f/1.82 aperture. When you click a photo, each sensor captures a shot which are then merged together to create a single image with higher details. Up front, the phone also sports a single 20MP selfie snapper.

    Under the hood

The Nokia 9 PureView is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. Under the hood, it packs a 3,320mAh battery with wireless charging support and runs Android Pie as part of the Android One program. Further, the phone supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C port but misses a headphone jack.

    Nokia 9 PureView: Pricing

The Nokia 9 PureView was introduced at a price tag of $699 (approx. Rs. 48,500) and comes only in Midnight Blue color option. It is currently available in select international markets. As for India pricing, the phone could cost around Rs. 46,999.
