Nubia is gearing up to launch its high-end handset, the Z40 Pro. In the latest development, the ZTE-owned company has confirmed that the phone will make its debut in China on February 25. The Z40 Pro is expected to be introduced along with a vanilla Z40 model. The company is yet to announce whether the handset will come to India or not.

Context
Why does this story matter?
  • The Nubia Z40 Pro has already made headlines with several industry-first features.
  • It will be the first commercial Android smartphone to have wireless magnetic charging, the first to feature a custom-made 35mm optical lens, and the first phone with a Sony IMX787 camera sensor.
  • This list may grow longer as we get to know more about the handset.
Display
It may have a punch-hole design

The Nubia Z40 Pro is expected to feature a punch-hole design with slim bezels and an in-display fingerprint reader. On the rear, it could have a quad camera module. The handset may bear a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and fluidic animations.

Information
It will sport a 50MP main camera

Details about the camera of the Nubia Z40 Pro are scarce as of now but it will flaunt a 50MP (f/1.6) Sony IMX787 primary sensor paired with a 35mm optical lens. It will sport a single selfie camera.

Internals
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will power the device

The Nubia Z40 Pro will draw juice from a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it will boot Android 12 and may pack a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support. For connectivity, it will offer support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and a Type-C port.

Information
Nubia Z40 Pro: Pricing and availability

The official pricing and availability details of the Nubia Z40 Pro will be announced at the time of its launch on February 25. However, going by the specifications and features, we expect it to start at around Rs. 55,000.
