OnePlus working on true wireless earbuds, hints CEO Pete Lau
OnePlus ditched the headphone jack with its OnePlus 6T, pushing users towards its Bullets Wireless earbuds. The Bluetooth-enabled earphones ticked most of the boxes for everyone except that they were not truly wireless - like Apple's AirPods. And now, CEO Pete Lau has hinted that the company could launch truly wireless earphones alongside the upcoming OnePlus 7 flagship. Here's all about them.
OnePlus working on the next iteration of Bullets Wireless
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, in a Weibo post (translated), said, "Under the general trend of canceling the earphone hole, a wireless headset with the ultimate experience will be a product that we can polish for a long time." "Although our cloud ear is very good, it can be even more extreme. Any suggestions for everyone can be discussed in the comments".
Upcoming Bullets Wireless could be truly wireless
Lau's post is a major hint that OnePlus is working on new Bluetooth earphones with a newer design. Possibly, the company may come up with truly wireless earbuds to take on Apple's AirPods and Samsung's Galaxy Buds. We can also expect these new earbuds to offer faster pairing and deeper integration with OnePlus phones along with improved audio and battery life.
New Bullets Wireless could launch alongside OnePlus 7
OnePlus Bullets Wireless were launched last year alongside the OnePlus 6. So, we can expect the new earphones to launch alongside OnePlus 7 - the successor to OnePlus 6. As for pricing, there as no details available as of now. However, given OnePlus Bullets Wireless cost Rs. 3,900 in India, we can expect the new iteration to be priced around the same ballpark figure.
Meanwhile, here's everything to know about OnePlus 7
As per leaks and renders, OnePlus 7 will feature an all-screen design with a pop-up selfie camera and a triple rear camera setup. It will also retain OnePlus 6T's in-display fingerprint sensor, won't support wireless charging, and will miss a headphone jack. Further, it is expected to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with upto 10GB RAM and upto 256GB storage.
