OnePlus TV to feature 55-inch QLED screen, Android TV OS

OnePlus's first-ever smart TV is almost here, and the company can't help but tease some of its details. Just a few days back, the company announced that the TV will be called 'OnePlus TV' and revealed its logo. And now, OnePlus has confirmed some of the key specifications and features of its upcoming big-screened product. Here's all you need to know about it.
In an official tweet, OnePlus has confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus TV will sport a 55-inch QLED display. We also believe the display will offer 4K resolution and HDR support. For those uninitiated, QLED stands for Quantum Light-Emitting Diode. A QLED display is just like a regular LED panel, except it uses "quantum dots" to improve the color and brightness.

According to previous reports, OnePlus TV will be offered in four screen sizes across India, China, and the US. But going by the official teaser, the company may offer only the 55-inch model in India, at least initially.
Further, in a recent interview with Gadgets360, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that OnePlus TV would run on Android TV. However, it won't be the vanilla Android version we have seen on a bunch of new models. Instead, Lau said the TV will offer a more enhanced experience, thanks to its custom and improved UI on top of Android TV.
Tellingly, Lau has confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus TV will be a premium flagship model that'll take on the likes of Samsung and Sony, and not Xiaomi's Mi TV range. Meanwhile, more details will be known over the coming days as the TV is set to make its global debut, reportedly on September 26.
