OnePlus TV teaser image reveals Kevlar-like back design, swivel stand
OnePlus's maiden television, the OnePlus TV, is shaping to be a high-end premium device. Several teasers have already confirmed that it would arrive as a flagship offering, featuring a 55-inch QLED display, 50W speakers, and top-tier internals. And now, the company has shared a new teaser image, revealing a Kevlar-like design on the back panel and a built-in swivel stand. Take a look.
While the front looks of the OnePlus TV remain a mystery, the teaser image confirms that the back panel will come with a Kevlar-like panel. We can also see a metallic stand riveted to the top-middle portion. The stand will likely support the swivel mechanism, allowing you to easily pan your TV screen depending on your position.
Further, going by the recent leaks, the OnePlus TV will come with a 55-inch QLED display in India. It will reportedly have a nearly bezel-less 4K display, with a density of 320 pixels per inch, as well as Dolby Vision support. The company has confirmed that the TV will pack 8 speakers and support Dolby Atmos to offer a room-filling 50W audio output.
The OnePlus TV is said to be powered by a MediaTek MT5670 chipset, paired with 3GB RAM and a dedicated Gamma Color Magic processor. It will also come with a Bluetooth-enabled smart remote controller and Wi-Fi support. Under the hood, the TV will run a custom and "improved" version of Android TV 9, offering access to Google Assistant, built-in Chromecast, and Google Play Store.
Reportedly, the OnePlus TV will make its global debut in India in the last week of September. The word is that the launch will happen on September 26, alongside the OnePlus 7T series. The flagship TV will also be Amazon exclusive in the country.
