OPPO Find X5 Pro with Dimensity 9000 chip unveiled

OPPO launched its flagship Find X5 series with Qualcomm processors on Thursday. Now, the company has unveiled a MediaTek Dimensity 9000-powered Find X5 Pro in China. It is priced at CNY 5,799 (around Rs. 69,000) for the 12GB/256GB model. Notably, the Dimensity version of the X5 Pro is the first handset to be powered by MediaTek's new flagship processor that was announced last year.
- Many were left disappointed when OPPO didn't announce a Dimensity 9000-powered device during the recent Find X5 launch event. It now seems like it was a deliberate strategy from the company.
- The X5 Pro Dimensity Edition has specifications similar to the Snapdragon version. However, it lacks the in-house MariSilicon X NPU, 5-axis OIS, and Hasselblad's color calibration, which in turn reduces the camera quality.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro features a left-aligned punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, curved edges, an IP68-rated build quality, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handset bears a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1440x3216 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, 1,300-nits of peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is offered in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White color options.
The Find X5 Pro flaunts a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP (f/1.7) main shooter, a 13MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens with 5x hybrid zoom, and a 50MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. Up front, it offers a 32MP (f/2.4) snapper for selfies and video calls.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Under the hood, it runs on Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless fast-charging support. For connectivity, it offers support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and a Type-C port.
The OPPO Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition is priced at CNY 5,799 (roughly Rs. 69,000) for the sole 12GB/256GB model. It will go on pre-sale in China on March 14. The handset will be up for grabs there starting March 18.
