Realme 2 Pro prices slashed, now starts at Rs. 12,990
What's the story
Realme has reduced the prices of its popular budget smartphone, the Realme 2 Pro, by Rs. 1,000 in India.
This price cut, applicable to all variants of the phone, comes as a permanent revision that is now effective on Flipkart as well as Realme e-store.
To recall, the Realme 2 Pro was launched in India last September at Rs. 13,990.

Realme 2 Pro: At a glance
Up front, the phone sports an edge-to-edge display with a "Dewdrop" notch and a slim yet prominent bottom bezel.
On the back, there's a polycarbonate panel which has a transparent, glossy effect that Realme claims is created using a 15-layer laminated technology.
Realme 2 Pro features a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full-HD+ display with 409ppi density, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The Realme 2 Pro offers a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 16MP (f/1.7) Sony IMX398 sensor, paired with a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor.
The rear camera comes with dual-pixel fast focusing, AI-based scene recognition, and supports 4K video-recording at 30fps (EIS only).
Up front, there's a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper which comes with AI-based features such as Beauty 2.0, Face recognition and portrait mode.

Under the hood
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, and 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM options and 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB).
Further, Realme 2 Pro runs Android Oreo 8.1-based ColorOS OS 5.2 and packs a 3,500mAh battery.
However, the battery size here is a bummer considering the Realme 2, with inferior specs, packs a bigger 4,230mAh battery.

Connectivity options and sensors onboard Realme 2 Pro
Connectivity options on the Realme 2 Pro include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack.
In terms of sensor onboard the phone, there's an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, gravity sensor, and a geomagnetic sensor.
Further, there's also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI-based Face Unlock feature.

Pricing and availability: New prices
After the price cut, the Realme 2 Pro starts at Rs. 12,990 for the base-end 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant.
The mid-end 6GB/64GB model is priced at Rs. 14,990 while the top-end 8GB/128GB version costs Rs. 16,990.
Notably, while the 8GB RAM model is not yet listed on Flipkart, the top-end model is available at revised price on Realme India e-store.
