Realme 2 Pro gets another price-cut, starts at Rs. 11,990

Realme has again reduced the prices of its popular budget smartphone, the Realme 2 Pro, in India. The camera-centric device has received a price cut of Rs. 1,000 and is now up for grabs at a starting amount of Rs. 11,990 via Flipkart and Realme e-store. To recall, the phones comes with AI-powered cameras and up to 8GB of RAM. Here's our roundup.

Previously, Realme 2 Pro's prices were revised in February

The Realme 2 Pro was launched last year at a starting price of Rs. 13,990. However, in February, its prices were revised, bringing down the cost to Rs. 12,990. And now, after the latest price cut, the smartphone starts at Rs. 11,990 for the 4GB/64GB storage variant. The mid-end 6GB/64GB model is priced at Rs. 13,990 while the top-end 8GB/128GB version costs Rs. 15,990.

    Availability and offers

While Realme has brought the price cut during its "Yo Days" sale, that lasts until April 12, the new prices will remain effective even after the sale. Notably, customers purchasing the smartphones during the sale via a prepaid transaction on Flipkart will get an additional discount of Rs. 1,000.

Meanwhile, let's recall the Realme 2 Pro

Up front, the phone sports an edge-to-edge display with a "Dewdrop" notch and a slim yet prominent bottom bezel. On the back, there is a polycarbonate panel which has a transparent, glossy effect that Realme claims is created using a 15-layer laminated technology. Realme 2 Pro features a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full-HD+ display with 409ppi density, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

The Realme 2 Pro offers a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 16MP (f/1.7) Sony IMX398 sensor, paired with a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. The rear camera comes with dual-pixel fast focusing, AI-based scene recognition, and supports 4K video-recording at 30fps (EIS only). Up front, there's a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper which comes with AI-based features such as Beauty 2.0, Face recognition and portrait mode.

    Under the hood

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, coupled with Adreno 512 GPU, and 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM options and 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). Further, Realme 2 Pro runs Android Oreo 8.1-based ColorOS 5.2 and packs a 3,500mAh battery which supports 10W (5V/2A) fast charging.

Connectivity options and sensors onboard Realme 2 Pro

Connectivity options on the Realme 2 Pro include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack. In terms of sensor onboard the phone, there is an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, gravity sensor, and a geomagnetic sensor. Further, there is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI-based Face Unlock feature.
