What's the story

Taking on the OnePlus 7 series, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi K20 smartphones in India on July 17. Titled Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20, both models were launched in China in May and share the same design as well as hardware (except for their processors). And, now in a new development, the India pricing of the Pro model has been leaked online.

Redmi K20 Pro to start at Rs. 24,999: Report

Citing an unnamed source, tech-focused publication iGyaan has claimed that Redmi K20 Pro will come at a starting price of Rs. 24,999 for the base-end 6GB/64GB configuration. The mid-end 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB models will cost Rs. 25,999 and Rs. 27,999 respectively. The top-end 8GB/256GB variant will be priced at Rs. 29,999. Separately, the standard Redmi K20 is tipped to arrive under Rs. 20,000.

Both the Redmi K20 Pro and K20 share the same all-screen design achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera. On the back, the glass panel gets a gradient finish and houses a triple camera array. Further, both models sport a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Both the Redmi K20 models offer a triple-lens rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor, a 13MP (f/2.4) secondary sensor, and another 8MP (f/2.4) sensor. The main camera is capable of recording 4K video at upto 60fps. Up front, both handsets offer a 20MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper which is housed in a motorized pop-up module.

The Redmi K20 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset while the Redmi K20 gets a Snapdragon 730 processor. These phones offer upto 8GB of RAM and upto 256GB of storage. Under the hood, the Pro model packs a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support whereas the standard K20 houses the same 4,000mAh battery but with 18W fast charging support.
