Xiaomi to launch Redmi K30 with 'World's First High-Resolution Camera'

Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi K30 in China on December 10. And just days ahead of its launch, Lu Weibing, General Manager of Redmi, has reportedly said that the upcoming phone will house "world's first high-resolution image sensor." Weibing hasn't revealed much details about the camera sensor but reports suggest that the handset could house a new 60MP Sony IMX686 lens.

The key specifications of the phone were leaked recently

Notably, the details of Redmi K30 have been leaked multiple times so far. A few days back, we reported that the handset will offer a punch-hole design and an industry-leading 120Hz display. Besides that, the details about its screen size, connectivity options (including dual-mode 5G support) and internal hardware have also been leaked.

The Redmi K30 will offer dual punch-hole design

Going by the leaks, the Redmi K30 will offer an edge-to-edge screen with a small display cut-out to accommodate dual-front cameras. On the rear, it is likely to house a quad-camera unit. The handset is tipped to offer a 6.66-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader for secure authentication.

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

The details about the camera sensors of the Redmi K30 are not known as of now. However, reports suggest that the handset is likely to house a 60MP Sony IMX686 main camera, paired with an ultra-wide-angle sensor, a telephoto lens, and a depth sensor. For the selfie lovers, the phone will offer dual front-facing cameras.

    Under the hood

The Redmi K30 will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 730G octa-core processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It is likely to run Android 10-based MIUI 11 and pack a solid 4,500mAh battery with 27W fast-charging technology. In addition, the handset should offer latest connectivity options such as dual-SIMs (Nano), dual-mode 5G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Type-C port.
