    Redmi Note 7 Pro, Note 7S get a new variant

    Xiaomi has launched a new Astro White color variant of its popular smartphones, the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S. The official announcement was made by Xiaomi India's chief Manu Kumar Jain on Twitter. Notably, the pre-bookings for the new models will commence starting 12 am on August 8 via Flipkart and Mi e-store. Here's our roundup.

    Let's take a look at both the smartphones

    The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S share a similar waterdrop notched design with noticeable bezels on top and bottom. On the backside, the smartphones sport dual cameras, physical fingerprint scanner, and gradient design. Further, the handsets feature a 6.3-inch LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S house a dual rear camera setup comprising a 48MP main sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies and videos, the handsets sport a 13MP front-facing shooter. Further, rear cameras of both phones can record 1080p videos at upto 120fps. However, the Redmi Note 7 Pro also supports 4K video recording at 30fps.

    Under the hood

    The Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 675 octa-core chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of expandable storage. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7S packs a Snapdragon 660 processor, coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of expandable memory. Further, both the Note 7 Pro and Note 7S are backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging technology.

    Connectivity options and sensor details

    The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7S get all latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, the phones pack all standard sensors including accelerometer, proximity, gyro and compass.

    Finally, what's the pocket pinch?

    In India, the Redmi Note 7 Pro starts at Rs. 13,999 for the entry-level 4GB/64GB model, the mid-end 6GB/64GB variant is priced at Rs. 15,999, and the top-end model with 6GB/128GB configuration is retailing at Rs. 16,999. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 7S costs Rs. 10,999 for the 3GB/32GB model and Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant.
