Rocket Lab launching Korean satellite to boost disaster monitoring

Technology

Rocket Lab is set to launch NEONSAT-1A, a satellite for South Korea's KAIST, tonight (December 10, 2025) at 7:45pm EST from New Zealand.
The mission, called "Bridging the Swarm," uses their Electron rocket and aims to help track natural disasters across the Korean Peninsula.
NEONSAT-1A is part of a growing satellite network built by KAIST to make disaster response faster and smarter.

What else to know

NEONSAT-1A will join its sibling, NEONSAT-1 (launched in April 2024), as part of KAIST's Earth-observation team in space.
Rocket Lab fast-tracked this launch, showing how quickly they can deliver for clients.
