Samsung to challenge Apple with 5G compatible, tech-laden Galaxy S10

Samsung is all set to launch its tenth-anniversary Galaxy S10 flagship next year, alongside a cheaper S10 variant and possibly, the world's first foldable smartphone.
And now, a Bloomberg report has revealed key details about the device, claiming the Galaxy S10 will come with a 5G wireless chip, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a new bezel-less design.

Samsung Galaxy S10 to come in three variants
According to the Bloomberg report, which agrees with previous leaks and reports, Samsung will offer three variants of its upcoming 10th-anniversary edition flagship.
Firstly, there's a Galaxy S10+ (codenamed Beyond 2) which will succeed the Samsung Galaxy 9+ and pack high-tech stuff.
Then, you have Galaxy S10 (codenamed Beyond) and lastly, a new cheaper flagship variant (codenamed Beyond 0) with trimmed down specs.

Galaxy S10 will be Samsung's first 5G smartphone
Bloomberg reports Samsung is "in talks with Verizon Communications Inc. to launch its Galaxy S10 in the US with a fifth-generation wireless chipset." This means S10 will support the recently announced Exynos Modem 5100, designed to deliver 2Gbps (maximum) downlink speed and support existing networks.

Samsung Galaxy S10: A new design awaits all
Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reports the standard S10 and S10+ will feature a notch-free curved OLED screen with "almost no bezel at the top and bottom" - a design Apple envisioned for its iPhone X.
Further, the S10 will feature triple rear cameras while the front camera will be "visible and tucked under the screen", according to Bloomberg.

Samsung has already confirmed an in-display fingerprint sensor
Samsung has embedded an all-new fingerprint sensor under the display of its upcoming flagship. Notably, the S10 and S10+ will feature this in-display fingerprint sensor. However, the cheaper S10 model, that won't feature S10's dual-curve "edge" screen, will get a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

What else do we know about the upcoming Samsung flagship
Recently, an "unreleased Qualcomm chipset", referred to as Snapdragon 8150, was spotted in Galaxy S9's Android Pie firmware.
This unreleased chipset is most likely the successor to Snapdragon 845 and could debut on the Galaxy S10.
Further, Bloomberg report says S10 will run Android Pie out-of-the-box and that Samsung is also working on "an S10 prototype without a headphone jack".
