Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo is reportedly planning to launch its latest mid-range smartphone in India - the Vivo X21. The phone, which happens to be the only mass-production smartphone to feature an under-display fingerprint sensor, was recently unveiled in China. And now, the phone is set to launch in India by the end of this month, according to a report by 91mobiles. Here's more.

According to 91mobiles, the Vivo X21 with under-display fingerprint reader will be launched in India by the end of May and will go on sale in the first week of June. Moreover, the smartphone is expected to be priced above Rs. 30,000 in India.

The Vivo X21 features a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Super AMOLED notch-based display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage options. The phone runs FunTouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and packs a 3,200mAh battery with fast-charging support.

The X21 sports a rear dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture primary sensor and a 5-megapixel, f/2.4 aperture secondary sensor and a LED flash. On the front, the phone's iPhone X-like notch houses a 12-megapixel, f/2.0 aperture camera which offers AI-based features such as IR fill light for low-light photography, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition.

Connectivity options and onboard sensors

For connectivity, the Vivo X21 includes 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and GPS. In terms of onboard sensors, the phone comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.
