Review blunders cost New Zealand against England: Details here
  • The New Zealand cricket team's horrible use of the Decision Review System (DRS) have haunted them in the ongoing first Test match against England in Mount Maunganui.

England posted 353 in the first innings with Ben Stokes scoring 91.

In reply, New Zealand are 144/4 and poor use of the DRS hurt their cause.

    Here are further details.

  • The problem continued with Tom Latham on Day 2.

The opening batsman was trapped LBW by Sam Curran for eight.

When Curran's delivery got Latham rapped on the pads, the latter walked straight away after the umpire raised his finger.

His decision not to review the verdict proved to be costly.

Hot Spot detected the ball had shaved the inside edge of the bat.

  • When England batted in the first innings of the Test match, the hosts stayed quiet when an appeal for a Rory Burns caught-behind was turned down by the umpire.

Burns was on 10 at that moment and England were on 14.

Later on, replays showed there had been a nick.

Burns accepted New Zealand's blunder and went on to make a gritty 52.

  • In the ICC World Cup 2019 finale, Martin Guptill appealed after being given out LBW.

Replays showed there wasn't any bat involved.

With the review wasted, NZ missed the trick after Ross Taylor was adjudged LBW on 15.

Replays showed the ball was missing the stumps.

The match and the Super Over were both tied.

England prevailed in terms of more boundaries hit rule.
