What's the story

The tenth season of the Indian Premier League kicked off on 5 April and has already provided the spectators with so much of entertainment. The tournament has already seen close wins and amazing chases; knocks from some domestic players have left the fans in awe. Let us have a look at some major incidents that have taken place in 2017 IPL till now.

SRH post the highest IPL10 score in the first match

Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the highest total of 207 runs in the very first match of the 2017 Indian Premier League against last year's runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore. Moises Henriques and Yuvraj Singh both scored half centuries, while Shikhar Dhawan scored 40 runs. SRH defended the score and they won by 35 runs.

Afghani players make a name for themselves

19-year old Rashid Khan created history as he became the first player from Afghanistan to play in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut for SRH against RCB. Rashid has picked up ten wickets in seven games till now. His country-man Mohammad Nabi also played his first IPL match for SRH and picked up a wicket in his first spell itself.

First century

Sanju Samson hits first century of 2017 IPL

Delhi Daredevils' Sanju Samson hit the maiden century of the 2017 IPL against Rising Pune Supergiant as Delhi went on to post the second highest total of the season till now. Samson hit eight fours and five sixes in his innings of 102. DD also registered its biggest win this season as they defeated RPS by 97 runs.

Poor umpiring decisions have troubled Indian Premier League since years. However, the tenth season of the tournament has already seen its share of bad decisions, with the frequency going up this year.

A day of hat-tricks

Two bowlers take hat-tricks in two consecutive matches

On 14 April, Samuel Badree became the first player to pick-up a hat-trick in the 2017 Indian Premier League. In the second match of the day, Andrew Tye of Gujarat Lions picked up the second hat-trick of the season to make it two hat-tricks on the same day. Badree picked up four wickets in his spell, while Tye got five in the match.
