    Mumbai Rockets crush Delhi Acers to win their PBL opener

    What's the story

    Mumbai Rockets went to to win all of their five ties against Delhi Acers to win 6-(-1) in their first match of the 2017 Premier Badminton League.

    After winning two men's singles, the Rockets won the mixed doubles, women's singles and men's doubles matches, thus dominating the whole tie.

    Mumbai will now take on Hyderabad Hunters in their second home match.

    Chennai Smashers have a easy victory against Bengaluru Blasters

    Winning all of their matches against Bengaluru Blasters, Chennai Smashers registered their first win at the tournament.

    Parupalli Kashyap opened the winning account for Smashers in the men's singles match.

    PV Sindhu too won her women's singles tie before Smashers went on to win the mixed doubles and men's doubles matches to win the tie 5-0.

    Only one win for Bengaluru

    Bengaluru Blasters managed to clinch victory in only one match of the tie against Chennai Smashers. Victor Axelsen registered a 11-7, 13-11 win over Tommy Sugiarto in the second men's singles match of the day.

    Mumbai vs Delhi

    Jayaram, Prannoy give a winning start to Mumbai Rockets

    Ajay Jayaram and HS Prannoy started off Mumbai Rockets' campaign with a win in their respective matches.

    In the first match of the day, Jayaram defeated world number two Jørgensen 15-14, 11-4.

    Prannoy had a rather easy encounter against Son Wan Ho as the Indian won the match 11-9, 11-9.

    After the two matches, Mumbai was leading 2 to -1 against Delhi.

    Today's schedule

    Day two at Mumbai's National Sports Club of India will see hosts Mumbai Rockets take on Hyderabad Hunters. Both Rockets and Hunters have won their respective first games at PBL.
