    What's the story

    New Zealand stunned India in the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford in Manchester on Wednesday.

    Kiwis, who resumed at 211/5 after rain played spoilsport on Tuesday, managed to score 239/8.

    India lost quick wickets, before Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni fought back. But the Kiwis held their nerves.

    Kiwis reached their second consecutive World Cup final.

    Boult

    Tremendous Boult scripts these feats

    Trent Boult raced to 17 wickets in 2019 World Cup.

    The left-arm pacer now has 39 career World Cup scalps.

    He surpassed former South African hero Allan Donald (38) with this tally.

    The Kiwi ace has extended his tally to 38 ODI wickets this year.

    Boult now has 164 career ODI wickets. He achieved the same in just his 88th match.

    Williamson

    Williamson notches 39th career ODI fifty

    Kane Williamson played a patient innings on Tuesday and scored a 95-ball 67.

    He became the sixth batsman to score 500-plus runs in the ongoing World Cup (548).

    He is now the fourth highest run-scorer in CWC 19 as well.

    Williamson also went past 900 ODI runs in 2019 (918).

    This was his sixth fifty this year and a 39th career one as well.

    Taylor notches 50th career ODI fifty

    Ross Taylor (74) was the top run-scorer for New Zealand. The veteran star became the sixth batsman to score 900-plus ODI runs in 2019 (928). Taylor registered his seventh ODI fifty this year. He also notched his 50th ODI fifty.

    Kohli stats

    Unforgettable stats for Indian skipper Kohli

    Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both scored just one run each.

    The last time both these batsmen got dismissed for the same came against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final.

    Kohli's score in World Cup knockouts reads: 24, 9, 35, 3, 1 and 1.

    That's a total of 73 runs from six games across three editions.

    Kohli averages just 12.16.

    Bumrah, Bhuvi

    Bumrah and Bhuvi register these stats

    Jasprit Bumrah (1/39) has 18 wickets in CWC 19.

    JB also got to 25 ODI scalps in 2019. He is the fifth highest wicket-taker for India this year.

    Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/43) now has 128 career ODI wickets.

    He went past Mohammed Shami (127) and is one short of Ravi Shastri (129).

    Bhuvi also raced to 29 ODI scalps in 2019.

    Jadeja

    Jadeja slams maiden World Cup fifty, stitches a partnership record

    India were 92/6 at one stage, before Ravindra Jadeja joined MS Dhoni.

    The two players got together and added a hundred-plus stand for the seventh wicket.

    This is the highest seventh wicket stand for India in World Cup history.

    Jadeja (77) slammed his 11th career ODI fifty.

    This was also his maiden World Cup fifty.

    Notably, his last ODI fifty had come in 2014.

    Dhoni registers 73rd career ODI fifty in his 350th match

    Dhoni (50) went past the 750-run mark in World Cup cricket. He surpassed former Indian legend Yuvraj Singh (738) with this feat. MSD slammed his fifth career World Cup fifty. It was his 73rd career ODI fifty in his 350th match.

    How did the match pan out?

    India kept NZ under control with some disciplined bowling.

    Williamson and Taylor were superb for the Kiwis.

    The conditions were overcast, before it started to rain heavily and that resulted in the match getting stopped.

    India were stunned early on and the side kept losing wickets.

    It was Dhoni and Jadeja that kept the side in the hunt.

    Unfortunately, it wasn't enough.
