Kharote breaks Ishan-Gill stand

Afghanistan, electing to field, managed to remove both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma before the 100-run mark. However, the next 23 overs saw the carnage of Gill and Ishan. The duo added 224 runs (140 balls), taking India to 320. In the 37th over, Kharote broke the blistering partnership by removing Ishan (125). Despite leaking runs, the spinner then sent back Gill and KL Rahul on successive balls in the 43rd over.

In his next over, Kharote dismissed a scratchy Shreyas Iyer. This reduced India to 371/6. Rashid, who earlier removed Rohit, struck in the final Powerplay by removing Gurnoor Brar. His next and final victim was Washington Sundar (19). Rashid, who couldn't complete his full quota, took 3/48 in eight overs. And Kharote concluded his spell with figures of 4/76 (10).
