Australia’s captain in both ODI and T20I cricket formats, Aaron James Finch is known for aggressive cricket and muscling the ball over the boundary line. Finch started as a middle-order batsman and was later promoted to the opening position. He made his international debut in a T20I against England in 2011. In 2013, Finch scored 156 runs in a Twenty20 international, setting the record for the highest score in a T20I. He bettered this record when he scored 172 against Zimbabwe in 2018. He was also the No.1 ranked T20I batsman in the world for a long time. Amidst the ball-tampering scandal of 2018, Finch was made the captain of Australia in limited-overs. In the same year, he made his Test debut against Pakistan. Finch is one of the most in-demand batsmen in various domestic T20 leagues around the world. He has played for eight Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises and led the Big Bash League (BBL) team Melbourne Renegades to a championship in 2019.
