Australia A defeat India A in unofficial women's Test: Report

    What's the story

Australia A secured a 45-run victory over India A in the unofficial one-off women's Test match, held on Sunday.

The win was largely due to the exceptional bowling performances of Tess Flintoff (3/39) and Charli Knott (3/34), who each took three wickets.

Despite a target of 289, India A were dismissed for 243, adding only 94 runs to their overnight score of 149 for six on day four.

    Bowling brilliance

Flintoff's bowling prowess dismantles India A's resistance

Raghvi Bist (26) and Uma Chetry (47), the overnight batters for India A, demonstrated resilience by adding 61 crucial runs to the total.

However, their partnership was broken when Flintoff dismissed Chetry.

Bist, a consistent performer throughout the series, also fell in the same over as Flintoff dismantled the stumps.

This left India A struggling at 212/8.

    Spin supremacy

Australia A's spin attack puts India A under pressure

On day three, Australia A had already put India A under immense pressure with their spin attack causing significant damage.

The Indian batters attempted to build a solid foundation, but Australian spinners - Charli Knott (3/34), Grace Parsons (2/37), and Lilly Mills (1/25) - struck at regular intervals.

They claimed five wickets for just 42 runs across 21 overs, leaving India A in a precarious position at 149/6 while chasing a victory target of 289.

    Spirited performance

Sayali Satghare's spirited performance not enough for India A

Despite Sayali Satghare's spirited 36-ball 21, it was not enough to change the outcome of the match.

At the close of play on day three, Raghvi (16) and Uma Chetry (10) were at the crease with India A still requiring 140 runs to win with four wickets remaining.

The final scores were: Australia A - 212 and 260 all out in 92 overs beat India A by scoring 184 and being dismissed for 243 in just under 93 overs.
