After talking about an IPL-style league for women's cricketers for a while, the BCCI is ready to take the first step. Here is all you need to know.
A new chapter for women's cricket
According to reports, the IPL Governing Council has given the nod to host an exhibition game that will consist of four foreign players in each team. The match will start at 2:30 PM in the afternoon well ahead of the Qualifier 1 which is likely to be played from 7 PM onwards. This could be a historic move for women's cricket in India.
Women's BBL has been successful
The BCCI is said to be drawing inspiration from the Women's Big Bash League which has seen a lot of progress in recent past. Such leagues have encouraged the BCCI to have its own IPL-style league in the coming time.
