Pant's consistency in T20Is has been a subject of debate.
The southpaw has slammed 987 runs from 66 T20Is at 22.43. His strike rate reads 126.37.
The tally includes three half-centuries, 27 catches, and nine stumpings.
Samson has also not impressed in T20Is, having scored just 374 in 25 games at 18.70 (50: 1).
