Rahul Dravid's son Anvay picked in India U-19 B squad
What's the story
Anvay Dravid, the son of former Indian batter and head coach Rahul Dravid, has been named in India's Under-19 B squad for an upcoming tri-series. The tournament will take place between November 17 and 30 at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Along with India B, India A and Afghanistan's Under-19 team will also participate in this competition. Vihaan Malhotra will lead the A side.
Steady progress
Anvay's steady rise through the ranks
Anvay's selection comes after a notable rise in youth cricket in recent months. The promising wicketkeeper-batter has been performing well at the junior level. He recently led Karnataka in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, showing his form and composure. He was also named in the squad for the Under-19 Challenger Trophy scheduled to be held in Hyderabad this November.
Talent showcase
A chance to shine for Anvay
The upcoming tri-series will be another opportunity for the senior authorities to assess emerging talent ahead of future U-19 World Cup selections. For Anvay Dravid, it is yet another step in his steadily advancing career. He is expected to carry his family legacy forward. His father, Rahul Dravid, has 24,064 runs in 504 international matches at an average of 45.57. He slammed 48 tons and 145 half-centuries.
