Arsenal's Kolasinac fights off armed robbers
Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac fought off armed robbers in an attempted carjacking on a London street. The car belonged to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and fortunately, both players escaped unhurt, as confirmed by the club. The two robbers wielded knives at the 26-year-old Kolasinac. The video has since then gone viral on the social media platforms. Here is all about this incident.
Kolasinac seen chasing robbers, club confirms players are fine
As per the video being circulated on social media, Kolasinac can be seen chasing the robbers in Platts Lane, near Golders Green, in London around 5:00 PM BST. Arsenal said in a statement: "We have been in contact with both players and they are fine."
How did the incident unfold?
The video also shows full-back Kolasinac fighting off two men loaded with knives. He jumped off a vehicle in order to confront the masked men who had pulled alongside the car on mopeds. Both car robbers were armed. They were filmed brandishing knives at the player. The two Arsenal players were travelling in Ozil's Mercedes SUV in London.

Ozil leaves car to ask for help, Kolasinac fights
30-year-old Ozil ditched the car in the middle of the road and ran to a restaurant asking for help. But Kolasinac had different ideas and confronted the two masked men. The robbers also had crash helmets on and managed to run away. Post the incident, both the players travelled to a restaurant in Golders Green, before officers spoke to them.
Metropolitan Police gives details about the incident
The Metropolitan Police said, "It was reported that suspects on motorbikes had attempted to rob a man who was driving a car. The driver, along with his passenger, managed to get away unharmed and travelled to a restaurant in Golders Green, where they were spoken to by officers." Meanwhile, no arrests have been made so far as enquiries continue.
'Ozil looked absolutely terrified'
Meanwhile, an onlooker told Mail Online, "It was totally mad and strange. Ozil looked absolutely terrified, as anybody would after being chased by men with knives. He looked like he was running for his life. I saw him disappear into the restaurant."

In 2016, West Ham's Andy Carroll was threatened at gunpoint while he was returning home from a training session. The incident was captured and the culprit was jailed later on for six years for trying to rob Carroll's £22,000 watch. The culprit was caught on CCTV cameras chasing the 28-year-old, who was driving his Jeep Wrangler in north-east London.
