IPL: Gautam Gambhir steps down as skipper of Delhi Daredevils
Gautam Gambhir has stepped down as the captain of Delhi Daredevils in wake of the side's dismal performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Gambhir, who had joined DD this season after a 7-year stint with Kolkata Knight Riders, took the decision after just six games in charge. Shreyas Iyer will now take over the captaincy reins for remainder of the season.
It was my decision, says Gambhir
Gambhir stated on Wednesday that it was solely his decision of stepping down as the captain of the side. The former KKR skipper also added that with him not contributing enough to the team, he had to make the decision. Being the leader of the ship, Gambhir felt it was the right time for him to step down.

DD's form the main concern
The Daredevils sit last on the table with just one win from six matches. Gambhir's own form has been bad as he has managed to score only 85 runs in five innings.
