    A look at some records scripted in Day-Night Tests
  • India are preparing for a history-making moment as they would be playing their first-ever Day-Night Test when they face Bangladesh at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, starting Friday.

    With 11 Day-Night Tests being played so far, it has always been the center of attraction.

    On the same note, we take a look at the records scripted so far in Day-Night Tests.

  • Of the 11 matches, five have been played by Australia so far. Notably, they have won all the matches.

    While their opening win came against New Zealand in 2015, it was followed by South Africa (2016), Pakistan (2016), England (2017) and Sri Lanka (2018).

    They are scheduled to play a couple of more D/N Tests this year.

  • As far as scoring runs is concerned, Pakistan's Azhar Ali has made a name for himself, having scored 456 runs in three Tests, including a century and twin half-centuries, at a brilliant average of 91.20.

    He also holds the record of scoring the most runs in an innings in D/N Test, having scored an unbeaten 302 against Windies, in October 2016, which Pakistan won.

  • As for the bowlers, Australian pacer Mitchell Starc leads the charts for most wickets in D/N Tests, with 26 scalps in five matches, at an average of 23.

    His best performance during a match was 8/137.

    As for the best bowling in an innings, the record lies with Windies' Devendra Bishoo, who claimed for 8/49 against Pakistan.

  • Considering the best batting pair in D/N Tests so far, Australia's Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith have been the standout one.

    So far in three innings, the pair has scored 301 runs, which includes a couple of 100-run stands, along with a 50-run stand.

    As for the highest partnership in a match, England's Alastair Cook and Joe Root scored 248 in 2017.

  • As for the most successful fielder in D/N Tests, Australia's Matthew Wade has been the exceptional one, having inflicted 13 dismissals in a couple of matches.

    He, along with Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis, has claimed the most catches (12) in the format.

    Meanwhile, a total of seven wicket-keepers have had the most stumpings, one each.
