Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka scored a magnificent fifty as the tourists huffed and puffed their way to a respectable total of 183 runs for the loss of five wickets in their quota of 20 overs during the second T20I against India in Dharamsala. Danushka Gunathilaka supported Nissanka before being out for 38. They added 67 runs. Dasun Shanaka scored a quickfire 47 runs.

    India dominate the powerplay overs

India had a productive time in the PP overs. Though India were not able to collect a wicket, they suffocated SL batters with their line and length and did not allow them to score freely. India leaked just 32 runs in the first six overs.

    Nissanka slams 75 for SL

Playing his 19th T20I, Nissanka slammed his fifth T20I fifty on Saturday. He surpassed the 500-run mark in T20Is as well. He batted with a sense of purpose. He found the gaps and dominated the show. He consumed 53 deliveries and smashed 11 fours. Nissanka's 75-run knock is also his highest score in the shortest format of the game.

Nissanka and Shanaka added 58 runs for 5th wicket

After a decent start, skipper Dasun Shanaka and Nissanka came together and stitched a 58-run partnership for the fifth wicket to give Sri Lanka a flying finish. Nissanka was eventually dismissed on the last ball of the 19th over. Thereafter, Shanaka hammered 19 runs in the last over. SL was also awarded five runs in extras in the 20th over.

A look at Indian bowlers' performance

Jasprit Bumrah was the most economical bowler from India. He picked one wicket while giving away 24 runs in his stipulated four overs. Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Harshal Patel also picked one wicket each. However, Patel was the most expensive bowler. He leaked 52 runs in four overs. Bhuvi picked the important wicket of Nissanka in the 19th over.
