No bilateral series with Pakistan: Centre tells BCCI

Ahead of the meeting between PCB and BCCI, sports minister Vijay Goel said that the bi-lateral series with Pakistan is not possible given the current scenario. Goel also mentioned that BCCI must consult with the government before making any proposal to the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a legal notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asking for compensation for not honouring the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two boards to play six bilateral series between 2015 to 2023. PCB has claimed that they have lost $200 to $300 million because of India's refusal to play cricket with them.

PCB, BCCI to meet in Dubai?

PCB and BCCI officials are scheduled to meet on 29 May in Dubai in an attempt to resolve the issue. While BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said that they are open to a bilateral series, but they won't go-ahead without the permission of Indian Government.

When was the last time India-Pakistan played a bilateral series?

After the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Pakistan has visited India only once in 2012-13 for a limited over series. They played three ODIs and two T20 matches. While the T20 series ended in a tie, Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1.
