Pakistan, officially known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is the 6th most populous and 33rd-largest country in the world covering an area of 881,913 square kilometres. It is a predominantly Urdu speaking nation with Islam being the most followed religion. A civil war in 1971 resulted in the formation of an independent Republic of Bangladesh which before the war was part of Pakistan.
