IPL 2022 Auction: Jonny Bairstow sold to PBKS
Punjab Kings have bought England cricketer Jonny Bairstow in the IPL 2022 Auction on Saturday. Bairstow, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season, earned a whopping deal of Rs. 6.75 crore. He was released by SRH after the 2021 season. Bairstow made his IPL debut in 2019 for SRH. He scored 445 runs in his first season at an average of 55.62. In the IPL 2020, Bairstow played 11 matches, scoring 345 runs at 31.36. Last season, he played seven games, scoring 248 runs at 41.33. Overall, he has amassed 1,038 runs at a healthy strike rate of 142.19.
Bairstow racked up 445 runs from 10 matches at an incredible average of 55.62. He had a staggering strike rate of 157.24 in that season. The England top-order batter shared several historic partnerships with Australia's David Warner at the top.
In a career spanning over a decade, Bairstow has played as many as 166 T20 matches. He has smashed 3,904 runs at an average of 24.90. The right-handed batter has a strike rate of 137.56 in the shortest format. Bairstow has hammered 329 fours and 170 sixes so far. The tally includes three centuries and 22 fifties.
