New Zealand cricketer James Neesham has made a name for himself on Twitter with his witty tweets and wittier comebacks. Even before he became a Twitter sensation, Neesham was popular for his displays with the bat and ball for New Zealand and other teams he played for. He began his senior domestic career with Auckland, making his List A and first-class debuts in 2010. He later moved to the Otago Volts, a move that paid handsome dividends considering how his career took shape after that. Neesham's international debut came in the 2012-13 series against South Africa, where he made his T20I and ODI debuts. Although he became a limited-overs specialist, it was his Test debut in 2014 against India that caught everyone's eye. He scored a century on debut, which was also the highest score by a number eight batsman on debut. In his second Test, he became the first New Zealander to score hundreds in two consecutive matches since his debut. Neesham was part of the New Zealand team that almost won the 2019 World Cup. His performance in the super-over nearly got New Zealand the coveted trophy.
