Football transfer rumours and news
12 days into the January transfer window and there have already been some big moves across Europe. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all are desperately looking to make some big money signings, while Chelsea are having troubles with their manager Antonio Conte. Here are the top rumours from today's European papers.
Manchester United have reportedly been trying to hijack Manchester City's deal for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez but the Red Devils are not willing to stop right there. Mourinho is keen on adding another top class striker to his ranks despite the likes of Lukaku, Zlatan, Rashford and Martial already in his 25-man squad. Leicester's Jamie Vardy and West Ham's Javier Hernández are current targets.
Manchester United are also keen on luring Borussia Dortmund's American sensation Christian Pulisic to Old Trafford and will look to strongly challenge Liverpool if they opt to lure the forward to the Premier League. Pulisic is not only young but he also brings a lot of commercial value considering he is America's first genuine football superstar.
Liverpool's injury-prone striker Daniel Sturridge is reportedly unhappy over the current game time he has received, having only started 5 Premier League games this season. The striker is worried about his World Cup prospects but Liverpool are only willing to sell the England international if they receive a bid in the range of £30m. A loan move might be best for both the parties.
Chelsea are on the hunt for a new manager after reports claim that Antonio Conte, who has grown frustrated with the lack of signings, is planning to move on. Juventus manager Max Allegri and former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique are the front-runners for the job, however other candidates are also being considered. Conte is tipped to take over big-spending Paris St-Germain.
AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar is one of the first names that is being floated around during the transfer window. The fresh gossip surrounding the French footballer says that Arsenal and Liverpool target may finally leave Monaco this month. Meanwhile, Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez is also being linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, leaving fans across the globe baffled.
