Sri Lanka thrashed South Africa by 199 runs, in the second Test, to win the series 2-0.
The 2-0 sweep saw the Lankans win their first Test series against the Proteas since 2006.
The first Test was also an easy win for the Lankans as they had ended affairs in just three days.
Here is the list of key statistics of the second Test.
Maharaj writes his name just below Muralitharan
Maharaj scripted history by writing his name in the same record book as Muralitharan.
He recorded the third best bowling figures in Tests between these two countries.
He picked 12 wickets in the match and conceded only 283 runs.
The best performances were recorded by Murali (13/171 and 12/225).
His 1st innings haul of 9 wickets is the best ever in the head-to-head encounters.
Herath is a serial record breaker
Rangana Herath was already in the esteemed company of Muralitharan and Dale Steyn.
In 2016, he had become the third bowler ever to pick a five-wicket haul against all Test playing nations.
In this match, he clinched his 34th five-wicket haul. He has 5th highest fifers in the world and 2nd most by a Sri Lankan.
Muralitharan leads this pack with 67 five-for.
Gunathilaka in big trouble
Off the field, Sri Lankan opener Danushka Gunathilaka has found himself in some serious trouble.
A Norwegian woman has accused a friend of Gunathilaka of rape while the batsman was present at the same hotel.
Gunathilaka played an important part in the 2nd Test, scoring 57 and 61.
The Sri Lankan Board has, meanwhile, suspended him from all forms of cricket.
