ManU sees 18% rise in quarterly revenue

English football club Manchester United recorded a 18 per cent rise in their quarterly revenue even after failing to qualify Champions League. Placed sixth in the Premier League, the club's broadcast revenues went up by 40.8% in the last three months of 2016. Apart from that, the match day income also rose by 27 per cent.

41% increase in broadcast revenues
With a new broadcast deal for the Premier League clubs in place, Manchester United's revenue saw a rise of 41 per cent to £52.5 million. In 2016, operating profit in the second quarter was up by 15 per cent, while the net operating profit went up by 23 per cent. However, ManU's commercial revenue did not see much change with just 1% increase.

ManU is now more settled: Ed Woodward
With an unbeaten streak of 15 matches at the Premier League, Executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward thinks that the club is more settled now. He said, "We want to get into a more steady state where we are buying and potentially selling lower number of players each year. I think we are in that kind of environment now when compared to 2-3 years ago."
