Argentine football legend Lionel Messi will arrive in New Delhi on Monday as part of his four-city tour of India. The city has beefed up security after the chaos that ensued during his Kolkata visit. According to The Indian Express, security personnel have been deployed for his event at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Messi and his team will stay at The Leela Palace in Chanakyapuri, which has booked an entire floor for them, NDTV reported.

Messi's luxurious stay and exclusive meet-and-greet
The football icon will be staying in Presidential Suites at the hotel, which cost between ₹3.5 lakh and ₹7 lakh per night. Hotel staff has been instructed not to disclose any details about Messi's stay. A closed-door meet-and-greet event has also been organized for select VIP guests and corporate clients, with entry reportedly priced at a whopping ₹1 crore.

Messi's Delhi itinerary: Meetings and events lined up
During his short stay in Delhi, Messi will meet the Chief Justice of India and several Members of Parliament. He was earlier scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the latter left for Jordan on Monday morning. After his meetings, Messi will visit the Arun Jaitley Stadium for a football clinic where he will felicitate Minerva Academy's teams and attend a nine-a-side football game.

Messi's visit to Purana Qila and departure from India
Messi will also visit Purana Qila, where he is expected to meet sporting personalities like Rohit Sharma, Paralympic javelin gold medallist Sumit Antil, boxing world champion Nikhat Zareen, and Olympic high jump medallist Nishad Kumar, as reported by Hindustan Times. His India tour will end around 6:15pm when he leaves for the airport. He is scheduled to depart from India at around 8:00pm.
